Salary: $18 - $21 per hour, according to experience

Shift: Day Shift

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm​, Friday 7:00 am to 12:00 pm​

Note: Hours may be extended if needed

Reports to: Plant Supervisor or Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or Designate

Description
-
The role of the Truck Driver is to pick up/deliver material to achieve the most efficient production schedule possible.
Responsibilities
-
Perform a daily vehicle inspection before each use (lights, fluid levels, tires, etc.)
-
Operate, load, and unload a vehicle (when qualified) and be responsible for vehicle and cargo safety
-
Check in with the Plant Supervisor or Shipping/Receiving Supervisor at the beginning of each shift to verify the plans for the day
-
Make pick-ups and deliveries on time as scheduled by the Plant Supervisor or Shipping/Receiving Supervisor on a day-to-day basis

Complete all necessary trucking paperwork as requested by Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. and as required by the Ministry of Transportation

Follow all trucking safety regulations as per the MTO and Cambridge Pro Fab Inc.

Perform other duties as required when trucking is slow (shipping/receiving – Brantford)

Use forklifts and hand tools when required (training and certification required)

Drivers are not permitted to make any unscheduled stops without authorization from the Plant Supervisor or Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

Communicate with the Plant Supervisor or Shipping/Receiving Supervisor at approximately 4:00 p.m. every afternoon Monday to Thursday and approximately 11:30 a.m. on Fridays to verify the trucking schedule for the upcoming business day

Possess and maintain a clean driving record and be an insurable driving and provide the required documentation

Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

0 – 5 years of experience considered an asset
-
Experience in driving a 5-tonne truck or larger vehicle an asset
-
AZ license required
-
Possess a clean driving record and/or driving abstract
-
Extended hours may be required from time to time
-
Proven time management skills and attention to detail
